The Story Behind Our Logo
A Symbol of Faith, Light, and New Life
At first glance, a logo may seem like just a design—but for us, it tells a story. Every shape, color, and element reflects not only what we believe, but also the unique history and heart of our church.
The Cross: At the Center of It All
At the center of our logo is the cross—the foundation of our faith.
It represents the love of Jesus Christ, His sacrifice, and the new life we are offered through Him. This isn’t just a symbol we use—it’s a reality we live by.
The cross in our logo is also deeply connected to our physical space. It reflects the large metal cross that stands at the front of our church building, visible to our community, as well as the cross inside our sanctuary above the altar. These crosses serve as constant reminders that everything we do points back to Jesus.
The Stained Glass: Our Story in Light
Behind the cross is a stained glass design that carries both spiritual and personal meaning.
Spiritually, stained glass reminds us how God works—taking broken, imperfect pieces and transforming them into something beautiful when His light shines through.
But for our church, this element is also a celebration of our shared history.
About 10 years ago, our sanctuary was filled with 16 stained glass windows, each one made possible by families within our congregation. These windows were designed by artist Mark Lewis of Willoughby in 2013, and they remain a visible expression of faith, generosity, and legacy.
Every time light shines through those windows, it tells a story—not just of God’s grace, but of the people who helped build this church into what it is today.
That same spirit is captured in our logo. It represents:
The Circle: Eternity, Community, and the Empty Tomb
Encircling the design is a simple, powerful shape—the circle.
A circle has no beginning and no end, reminding us of God’s eternal love and the completeness we find in Him. It also reflects the sense of belonging we strive to create—a community where all are welcome.
But there is another, deeper meaning.
The circular shape also calls to mind the stone that was rolled away from the tomb on Easter morning. It is a quiet but powerful symbol of the resurrection—the moment death was defeated and hope was restored.
Even the colors within the stained glass take on added meaning here. Together, they form a subtle landscape—evoking the world as it may have appeared in that first light of resurrection morning. It’s a reminder that Jesus didn’t just rise from the grave—He stepped back into the world, bringing new life to all creation.
A Living Symbol
Our logo is more than a design—it’s a reflection of who we are:
It tells the story of our past, expresses our present, and points toward the future God is calling us into.
And most importantly, it’s an invitation.
