Our Purpose
Our purpose is to provide free food to families in Streetsboro that struggle to meet their daily food needs. It is our mission to help our neighbors while keeping their individual needs in mind.
Volunteers always welcome!
W
e need volunteers to help distribute food, to unload and store food, to pick up food at Aldi's, Sheetz, and the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank.
Call us at 330-626-2239.

Items always needed: Peanut butter, tuna, Rice-a-Roni (Chicken or Beef), canned fruit, canned vegetables, soup, condiments such as ketchup, mustard, and salad dressings, cereals, cake mixes and frosting.
Also needed are the following:
Shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine products, deodorant, laundry detergent, diapers, and wipes.
Monetary Items are just as important:
For every dollar that is donated, the Pantry can purchase four dollars worth of food from the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank.  We purchase the rest of the items at local stores, receive donations from local businesses, and accumulate items by hosting various food drives.

about us:
We're an all volunteer agency with approximately 50 people in all who help in many ways.  We depend totally on the community to help this organization to function.  WE are always in need of assistance.   Call the Pantry for more information.

Connecting People To Resources: What is 211?

211 is a vital service utilized by thousands across Portage County.  Every day, residents of the community can contact 211 for free and confidential crisis and emergency counseling, disaster assistance, food, health care and insurance assistance, stable housing, utilities payment assistance, employment services, veteran services, and childcare and family services.

No matter the situation, the specialists at 211 listen, identify underlying problems, and connect people with resources and services in their community that improve their lives.  In 2019 alone, 211 answered over 7,000 calls, helping people with life-changing support.
211 does more than "patch people through" to agencies.  Instead, 211 specialists are trained to identify the root cause of a problem - and connect them with a wide range of available resources that meet all of the underlying needs, not just the one that prompted the call, chat or email.
